Mine use pee pads plus an "outhouse" - we have a two story house with multiple decks, the deck off the kitchen is 14 x 14 and we enclosed in with chicken wire (to prevent anyone from slipping through the railing), put in a little doggie door that enters an "outhouse" (3 x 3 x 3) with an exit from that to "their" deck when they have shade and sun and plenty of fresh air..on their terms, when they want it. the outhouse has potty pads which I change daily. They have a "private" commode (so to speak) plus free outside time (though we shut the outhouse "screen door" when they leave as someone could "technically" come up to the deck and steal them when we are gone. Though we have a big back yard we also have a pool and I know there are escape holes thus I don't want them access to the back yard for their own safety.
I can't imagine how someone could think using pee pads would be abuse. What's the difference if they pee on some grass or a pee pad? I know the dogs certainly don't care. |
