Really, I didn't know that. I fed him an early dinner, gave him an extra long walk right before we left for the airport (giving him a chance to pee and poop) and had piddle pads with me just in case. When had a 1 am flight and I kept him up past his bedtime so he napped and looked out the window the entire 3 hours. I had the kibble just in case, but I didn't really use it. And I'm really picky about water, which is why I usually carry my own even for myself. It's a weird little quirk or mine.
