Carole Jean....what I said, or meant to convey was for her not to panic over intenstinal bleeding / bloody stool because it is very common in Yorkies with any type of intestinal upset. Unlike persons where more often then not it is reason to panic. I have had many issues with this type of thing and been told by several vets that it is not in itself a cause for alarm. Of course you must take the dog to the vet for evaluation. They usually need to be treated with Flagyl and antibiotic.
Most importantly is to keep the dog hydrated because the dehydration is more dangerous then the illness that causes it.
