Buying a puppy is always an exciting venture. Be sure you have all his/her needs (crate, food the breeder has the pup on, wee wee pads, toys, etc.) before you bring the pup home. You'll have to get a vet exam with a day or two after purchase.
Don't take the puppy before 12 weeks of age.
