Providing a clean, disignated area for a pup to potty is far from animal abuse and probably healthier than taking them out and to potty and exposing them to who knows what.

Speaking to a vet a couple of weeks ago about dog parts; it's one of the most filthiest areas you can take your dog too. That in her opinion is unhealthy.
