After she had the shot ...she came home and for the rest of the day and night had the shakes. When I called the vet she said it was probably "just a little side effect". The following year...we tried it again ( my vet said that maybe she would outgrow the reaction of shaking ) and it happened again. Now ....this past September ...she was due for the vaccine again and so far I am resisting giving it to her again. Any thoughts or other info would be appreciated.
I have a girl who no matter what I do or try, has terrible teeth. She was cleaned 7 months ago and will be done again on Monday and it looks like there will be a few extractions. I spoke with my vet on Wednesday about the vaccine and other options. She said she's used the vaccine on some dogs but she doesn't recommend it because of the reactions they have had from the shot (plus she didn't see any major dental improvements in the dogs, who have used the vaccine).

I wouldn't use the vaccine based on my vet's negative feelings. With your girl having reactions both times, I'd think very hard about doing it again because sometimes reactions get worse and not better - sometimes with deadly results.

Good luck :-)
