when i did wk exp. in the vets a yorkie was brought in with a similar sounding problem. turned out she had excess tissue growing in her trachea and had to have an op because it was very serious (like your little one sounds)... it isnt always a major problem, many live happy healthy lives with the condiction without surgery, but if it is serious and an op is nessesary but not done, it is fatal (and when having an episode, feels kinda like having an extremly bad asthma attack in a young child)
if this is what is wrong, each time she does this she is suffocating a little.

how long has this been a problem for?

so, obviously a vet appointment is needed asap
