i always use frontline on my kids, there is one for very small dogs- the vets office is the only place allowed to sell it here though for some reason... even with it however, i've always been told only to use 1/2 a pipette on bambi because of her size (3lbs) but for the rest 5lbs+ a full dose is perfect...
another thing i use on occasion is tea tree and neem oil... both are great for killing and keeping away fleas (and ticks) and are very pet safe- i have used the nemm oil on a 4 week puppy before under instruction from the vet (although this was 9 years ago when we 1st got kandi the corgi)
the neem oil can also be used on floors and I THINK on carpets too...
