Hunniebunnie, it's your dog, you can do it anyway that you want! I recommended a smaller area so that you can cover it in peepads. That way, your pup gets used to the feel of the peepads under his feet when he potties. Then, you can gradually reduce the number of pads down to one. That's what I did when we were doing a combination of newspaper and going outside. Now, Joey goes outside only.
