The Floormate is a lot like a carpet shampoo machine. You fill a tank with a cap of cleaning solution and hot water and it put onto the floor and scrubbed with the spinning brushes. Then you suck all the water and crud up into a separate canister. There are 3 setting on the machine that you use. One is a vacuum that you use prior to cleaning. Then you wash and finally you suck up the dirty water.

I think I paid around $150

But check this one out~it must be new. You can use it on hardfloors and carpet! Walmart.com: Hoover SteamVac All Terrain Carpet and Hard Floor Cleaner, F7452900: Appliances

I've also seen them on Amazon.com for around $50
We saw one just like that at Walmart. Dont know if it was the same thing or not but it was around $300. I was reluctant to get it because I couldnt jump online and read the reviews and I didnt wanna have to push anything heavy. I'm curious though if those work well.
