I have found that unless a person has a lot of experience with the proper use of a stethoscope when trying to hear tiny babies heartbeats. The info you would glean from trying to hear the beats is of little value except for making us even more excited about the coming events.
I have a Doppler and it is almost foolproof. Ask Pat from Primrose about that..
One of my moms, Skylar, is delivering babies right now. I usually, actually almost always, have my moms X-rayed to get the info about numbers, size, fit thru the pelvis and so on. I didn't get to do it this time and thank goodness, i have that Doppler. I heard definitely 3 heartbeats a couple of weeks ago. Today, she has whelped 2 puppies and quit. So, I got out the Doppler and listened and sure enough there is still another puppy waiting to be born.. So we are on puppy watch til she delivers. Early trip to the vet in the morning..
