My fiance wants to go to his parents place in Florida over President's Day. I told him I only want to go if we can bring Joey. We will be flying from NY. I know nothing about flying with a dog....can he ride on the plane with us? We want to fly Continental or JetBlue...do either of these airlines accept dogs?

Joey is really quiet if we carry him in a bag where his head sticks out the side...but I think for flying you have to have your dog in a carry-on that closes completely

So, there may be an issue of him barking.

Have any of you "checked" your dogs and put them in the cargo of the plane? How were your experiences with this....I would be so worried about Joey if had to ride down there...
