I think you would have better luck with a private photographer that either specializes in pets or at least has experience working with them. Might cost more but results should be worth it. Another place to check are the dog clubs in your area. They will probably have some photographers to refer.
Nope, walmart picture studios was taken over by picture me which is owned by cpi corp which dose not do pet portraits my best friend just started to work there walmart used to do it but they no longer do

my advice look up photographers in the phone book going local is always the best shot
