I have wanted a Yorkie for about 20 years but it took me until this year to get one. I ended up getting 2.
Over the past 20 years I have spent 10 years in the Navy and had a boxer during some of that time. She was super sweet. She had been dropped off by another military person for training and they never came back and got her. After I got off active duty and went in the reserves I wanted to get a dog again and my son really wanted a big dog. We had a big yard so I agreed. We rescued a German Shepherd mix.
After he left us we waited some time but I fell in love with a Papillon Puppy. We got one and were very happy. Later I came across a Yorkie breeder and decided that I could and would finally have my dream. I ended up falling in love with 2 and got them both. I just could not decide between them.

If I were to ever "go big dog" again I would have to move first because I have very selfish and borderline abbusive neighbors. I came home one day and the neighbors kid was spraying my shepherd with a water hose because he barked at her. Sorry I rattled on. It still bugs me.
Anyway, my big dog pick would be a Great Dane. They are gentle giants with hearts of gold.

Right now our home is full. We have my 2 Yorkies, my son's Boston Terrier and my dh Papillon. We also have 3 cats (2 are rescues).

We would have more I know if my husband would say yes. I have a big heart and would rescue all that I could. I satisfied that need by working with a small dog rescue. It has been great to help them find their forever homes. I even dog sit for one of the rescues I placed when they go out of town.

Sorry I talked too much again .
