Before I got my Yorkie I had a black Lab. She was awesome. She was a rescue though and ended up having epilepsy, thus us having to put her to sleep since we couldn't get it under control and upping her meds wasn't an option.
I was really in love with Papillons and Westies for a while, so I'd say I'd go with one of those. I'd love to have a big dog again, but not in this tiny apartment.
