From what I understand, you slowly move the pad closer to the door you want your Yorkie to go to when he/she has to go potty. Eventually, move the pad to the spot in the yard where you want your Yorkie to eliminate. It's a slow process, and if there's a mistake, it means you've gone too fast, but it should work.
