what now? so the good news is, bunjee stopped crying and whining really loudly in his crate for more than 5 mins to get attention. when he whines loudly it's cause he's spoiled his bedding.
the bad news is, his whimpers to get out of his crate to go potty is SO quiet now, i don't hear it especially at night. he used to whimper loudly before he needs to go so i can go get him out. now he's whining loudly AFTER he's done the deed in the crate.
last night, i left his crate door open and i got to sleep through the night, waking up at 6am to his whining. when i went to check on him, he's gotten pee several times on the pad, no pee messes off the pad. it looks like he's gone poo on the pad as well, but ate some of it and played with some of it since there's 2 little pieces of poo on the floor, far each other and from the pad but the pad has more poo stains than those two little pieces i see. after i wiped up the pieces and cleaned up the floor and wiped his paws, ass and wee-wee, he whimpered a little bit when i went back to bed, he seems content to go back to bed himself as well.
so my question is, is it okay that i leave the crate door open for him at night? or does crate training requires that i shut him in? he's fine with sleeping in the crate, just doesn't like the door closed. he's confined in the kitchen so no fear of accidents anywhere else.
if i must close the crate door on him how do i get him understand that it's okay to make a little more noise if he needs to get out to potty, but it's not okay to make all that noise if he just wants out.
sorry it's so long, but any advice? |
