Dr. Haynes said his first thought was heart block, which was supported in large part by the ECG. But, he's also concerned that it might be Addison's disease. The bloodwork will determine whether or not it's Addison's. The heart block might be a little harder to diagnose definitively. Addison's is controllable by life-long medications. The heart block, also known as Sinus Block, can be controlled by medication depending on the degree and the dog's response to the medicine (usually atropine). Otherwise, a pacemaker is needed. As always, it could be something else entirely. I've given the doctor permission to do whatever is necessary for Chelsea, they can perform tests, bloodwork, heart scans - whatever it takes to diagnose her and get her home safely.
