I think 2 keep each other company. I remember when I only had 2. Now I have 4 Yorkies and an old dachshund. Never a dull moment. But I would not trade any of them for all the money in the world. I am home all the time, and just love them all. So to answer your question, if you can afford 2, then I would say, Go for it !
