Check the ingredient list. Sometimes the puppy formulas are a little higher in protein. But I have noticed the higher quality foods do not have that much variation between the puppy and adult formulas. Sure, the adult is probably designed to meet the average adult dog's needs best, but if yours is maintaining a better weight on the puppy formula and the protein % is within limits, I'd run it by the vet just to be safe but doubt that it will really be a problem for him.

I usually feed an All Life Stage food -- so it is the same from weaning to old age. My breeder friend just gave me some samples of Solid Gold Wee Bits (it is all life stage). I am thinking of switching. It is very tiny kibble!
