I agree with keeping the hair on their butt trimmed short and regular grooming with help.
But........
Wiping butts is not something that should be happening or need to be done after pooping on a daily because of poop being stuck to the backside of your puppy. I have three pups and I can't tell you the last time that I needed to wipe a butt because there was poop stuck to the hair.
It just should not happen if their poop is firm and hard from a good quality food.. If you need to put your pup into the sink to wash after or need to use baby wipes after pooping you need to look at what you are feeding him/her.
