If he hasn't been tested since June, he would need to be tested again before you started him on Advantage Multi. If all you want is flea/tick control right now, I'd recommend the Frontline. You don't need a prescription for that so you don't even have to go see your vet to buy it. I'm not sure why he'd ask you to come in just for Frontline, either. Especially if you were just there in June.
