Advantage Multi also controls heartworms & requires a prescription to get. Pets need to be tested annually for heartworms - my vet insists on it before he'll renew the prescription for HW preventative and it's part of my pup's annual exam. It can be fatal if you treat them with a HW preventative while they're infected. When's the last time Lucky was tested for heartworms? That's probably why you're vet wants you to come in
