This isn't based on any "evidence" other than my years of having dogs. I think it's good to separate them on occasion...insomuch as taking one on an outing one day, leaving the other home (or with someone else) and then switching with the other one...off and on so they can develop their own personalty and bond with you. I "heard" it's best to have at least a three plus months between puppies as they bond to each other more than the humans and I've noticed a difference in my dogs (over the years) when there's an age difference and when they are the same age. Separating them from play I agree with the others, pups play rough and just good to supervise as any mother of (human) twins (boys in particular) know that all that rough housing can lead to it getting out of hand and eventually one of those "twins" is going to "win" the fight and the pecking order is set.
