I am thinking about bangs again, even though I just grew them out! I was thinking growing out the bangs would give me more "total" hair, but it's not really making a difference. I really love rockabilly hair, Bettie page bangs, but I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH HAIR!

I've had choppy straight layers before, so I'm thinking more waves? But that will involve chemicals and my hair is so healthy now from not dyeing it for so many years now.

What you need is a really good stylist that will suggest different cuts that will work for your hair. They are very hard to find and much like finding a needle in a haystack
Just make sure that you buy product is my only suggestion for a good style. |
I've tried so many products. Bf's aunt is a stylist, and one of my friends from HS is a stylist as well. I've tried everything they've recommended, even the expensive stuff. After drying and styling, in the bathroom it looks good, 5 mins later it's flat already.

Another secret is is to use Dust it! It is a talcum powder like substance that you sprinkle at the scalp, they call it "tease in a bottle" It works wonderfully for me!
I do have hair that tends to be dry, and lucky for me, my hairstylist is my best friend. I get my hair done every Monday and Thursday, she washes, dries, flat irons it, and uses dust it! in it so I can have body at the crown.
She is learning how to do the brazilian straightening, and once she has that down, I am going for it, it blocs 98% of the humidity, so you have no frizzies, hair dries as if it has been straightened (supposedly) |
I use the Frederick Fekkai dry shampoo, basically the same thing. It absorbs oil and gives some volume. I also have Backcomb in a bottle from Big Sexy Hair, but it's so sticky and gross. That I only use for like costume/photoshoot days.

For the past several years, I have had the bob cut but I have them undercut it so it curls under with me having to do too much. I cut the sides just a tad bit shorter, but not too much. I like to keep the sides either behind my ears or clipped back as I don't like having so much hair on the sides of my head.
I have been debating going really short as I first want to lose a bunch of weight. I had a crew cut a couple of times and absolutely LOVED it! But then I was in my 20s and 30's. Once I lose at least 20 lbs, I'm going for it again, lol Hubby hates it but I'm the one who has to wash and style it.
Have you considered going short, like maybe a pixie? but one length? This would give your ends a bit more fullness and then you wouldn't have the choppiness of layers. With our hair, the cut hairs just pop out no matter what you do if you have layers on top of the cut. Good luck. BTW, I think you look good with your hair now. |
Bf would strangle me to death if I came home with a pixie. Plus I really don't feel I have the face for it. I don't have those high cheekbones. Anyway, he hated when I had my hair shorter, like not long enough to put in a low ponytail.
