Some vets do it that way cause that was the way they were taught and others like it or not it is a business and they do it to get you in there. Then you need frontline, heartguard, a fecal, ummmm what else..oh our dog food is better than yours, and treats, sea kelp for joints, toothpaste and toothbrushes, oh we have great leashes...and on and on...
You make the informed choice of what you are comfortable with your baby and let them know.
