The protocol on vaccines has changed in recent years and you are right. Most vets recommend every three years now, some stick with the old protocol. I wouldn't over vaccinate. Some vets will try to convince you to do it anyway. Get all the information you can on this subject as there is a wealth of information out there and then go with your gut.
