I believe this is true for all states. Since an animal is considered to be property, you have to run an add in the newspaper. Most all papers will run found adds for free. I believe the time you must run the add is different from city to city. I would call your local shelter and give the dogs info and ask them what the laws are in your area. Most people who lose a dog look in the lost & found section in the newspaper and check the local shelters. I hope you can find this babies owner as they must be heart broken. Also when you call the paper to run the found add, ask them to go back a couple of weeks to see if anyone had run an add for a lost yorkie. I have found many owners this way. |
