I don't like the options, but this is what I can think of:
1) buy a device that is supposed to stop his barking
2) keep the drapes closed in the front (is this your front yard?)
3) find a trainer to help you
It's awful that kids did that to him. Poor lil guy. Now, the way around the squirrels would be to cut down all of your trees!
