They can, and do euthanize dogs for biting, if the bites are severe enough, or if the dog is considered a dangerous dog. When my son was 7 he was bitten by a friends dog, and had 37 stiches in the head, I was asked if I wanted to have the offending dog put down because head/face/neck bites are considered to be life threatening. Of course I doubt that our little ones could ever do anything that would be considered life threating, but in my state it is the law to have the rabies, and I have had one of mine have a reaction to it also, but it still beats taking the chance of them getting bit by a animal like a coon, or rat, or some other animal that can possibly carry rabies, and mine coming down with it. Don't forget, our yorkies are natural rodant hunters by their breeding, and wild rodant's snap and bite, especialy if you live in a rural area.
