God bless you and your decisions about your Treasure.
No one is better to give you advice but your vet. Your vet saw your bitch and will be able to give good advice to you. I have close friends that are vets and was on the phone with me though my whelps. Their advice is golden, they are Dr's. It sounds like treasure is getting close to her whelp date especially if you can feel the pups moving, around 10 days before whelping. The temperature method works wonders . Ask your vet and do research. My one girls temp was normally 99.8 and she dropped to about 98.7 24 hours prior and then 98 12 hours prior. My other's normal temp was 101 she dropped to about 99 and fluctuated for a day and 1/2 before whelping. Neither one pushed at all for long. Keep a careful eye on her. you will need to help with the whelp and have supplies on hand. Im a novice breeder. We breed horses so whelping pups is easy. |
