I don't know your baby's condition, but it is important to stop her coughing, so it won't tear her trachea..
If she is in early stage of CT, you can try to manage her coughing with medication. I know that hydrocodone is one of cough suppressing medication. You may ask your vet about children's rubitussin(cough) as well. If you live near the city, you can check out East Village vet : 241 eldrige st in lower east side. tel)212.674.8640 I heard that dr. schabut is well experienced with CT and surgery is the last option in his book. He practive homeopathic medications as well which you might like.
