I just checked - a package weighing 3kg to be shipped at the cheapest rate from England to the USA (and no tracking available on that price) is from £41.79 which today is $66.42
So it really is expensive to ship from the UK to the USA.

But if the package weighs 2kg or less, the price is £23.37 which is $37.14 today.

2kg is 4.4lbs
