I am guessing she will fit into it this winter.

My little Princess will be 8 months old on Friday and 2 1/2 weeks ago when she had her spay surgery weighed only 3 lbs. 8 oz. She wears a size XXS. I have bought XS and Small in hopes she may grow a little more. I figure I can always alter clothes that are too big to a size that will fit.

I say, buy it. Poppy will definitely grow into it if she is the size you are mentioning at her current age.
