I will yet again put my two cents in with regards to health: above and beyond the "normal" usual vet visit and paperwork; look to see that parents are OFA tested for hip and knees, CERF for PRA, BATS done on parents, (and preferably pups at 16 wks repeat at 6mths), heart, aand maybe thyroid. Again look to see the website CHIC which shows what health tests have been done on breeding dams/sires. Inquire about what health problems have cropped up in the breeding lines.
Look for a "meaningfull" health guarantee offered by the breeder.
