I don't blame you for being worried. He could be getting pretty dehydrated if he is vomiting and has diarrhea. Has he had a change in food or been fed anything different that could cause the problem? I'm not sure waiting it out is such a good idea if it's been over 24 hours. The chicken is a good idea. I would remove any skin and boil it. Maybe add a little rice.
