I have filled in so many holes! I've tried keeping the ground moist, tried keeping it dry (to the detriment of the grass). I've tried vinegar in the holes (again to the detriment of the grass), cayenne pepper, tobasco (hard to do as I love the stuff) and regular pepper. It just seemed like I was flavoring the dirt for them.
They don't get much time out alone in the yard as I am afraid to leave them out there without supervision. Liz can't be left out, I've seen hawks around my house. But they still try to get to those holes. I ran Liz off yesterday and asked her what she thought she was doing. Hopefully, she won't do it again. It may not be a terrier trait, but I don't think she is as hard headed as the two IG offenders are.
