Your little yorkie is still young. So, just the slightest change in "environment" can throw them off for a little while. Patience and time is the key for your little yorkie.

My own little yorkie will be 8 months old on October 8th. She has had her own world turned upside down with me having to go be with my family in Georgia these past 2 months. My Grandmother finally passed away at age 96, 2 weeks ago. Anyways, this past visit back to Georgia I had to take "Princess" with me and she was one very happy little girl to be with me.

I agree that limiting food and water is not the best choice. They need to be fed twice a day and need water available at all times.

I have a suggestion that may work for you. This is what I have set up for my little yorkie. I have an XT Play Yard in my kitchen. I keep her pee pad, kennel, food and water, toys, etc. in there for Princess. She has proven to me she can be trusted to run around the house without accidents when I am able to keep an eye on her. If I am busy, I put her in the play yard in my kitchen to keep her safe and also if she does not let me know she needs to go outside, she does have her pee pad. I have decided to dual train her to go outside but to also be pee pad trained for times when we may travel with her, or we are not home, asleep, etc.

If you need a photo of how I have the XT Play Yard set up, I can message a photo to you.

Maybe what I suggested may be an option to consider. Hoping you will not have to rehome your little yorkie.
