I would stick with the LS 14 (and use the LD occasionally as a lil treat or something) unless he is having a reaction to the corn in the food. My Ginger has been eating the LS14 since last Sept/Oct and does well on it. She had the surgery but they did not find a shunt (she have MVD) but a lot of her lab values were WAYYY off the charts so I like to keep on her as little protein as possible.
