I guess if you were going to do it yourself, that works. But I would not take them in to a vet til the 3rd day. Gives them time to stablize a little and get over the trauma of birth. I alwys hated to even remove them from momma for weight checks and looking them over those first couple of days. My momma was good about letting me handle them tho. I am getting wistful again....good thing I have little Annie to keep me from complete puppy withdrawal. I know I am going to miss breeding them!
