They did ask you for health records when they asked for clearance to contact your vet for records. The fact that there were zero records on this particular animal meant that nothing would be covered. Sadly, they probably would have cited getting hit by a car as a pre-existing condition. They took your money on the assumption that when they asked the vet for records they would get some and meantime your baby would be covered.

See above.... I have Petplan for both of mine... I don't like paying premiums either, but I knew when I signed them up that they were going to scrutinize their vet records and made sure that everything was up to date on them.
That being said, I think the ins company should have let you know that the medical background was insufficient for coverage......but they are in it to make money....sucks, but true...
