Thyroid can cause some crazy irregular heart rythms. I have and irregular heartbeat due to mitral valve prolapse and see a cardiologist every six months. My heart is also normal on a echo. Dehydration can play a major role in irregular heartbeats. And so can gastro problems as a minor problem. I can not have wine often at all. sulfites cause flushness of my face, itchiness, sinus headaches and with more than two glasses forgetaboutit my heart rate is really high. I now take a calcium blocker from the past year. I am only 41 and in good health and shape. I have had irregular heartbeats since i was 27. I just wish i took the calcium blocker years ago. I have had a trip to the ER for AFRIB also, three years ago. The irregular heartbeat caused me to have a panic attack and made it 10x worse. If the calcium blocker did not work I would have to have an ablation to control the off beats but so far so good. infection can cause it for sure. Lets hope they can clear it up soon. He is in my prayers and you are too.
