I haven't studied psychology but wow it almost sounds like she is interpreting this differently. If she is smart enough to go to the crate after she has done her business she thinks that is what pleases you because she knows after she does it she has to go in there Not much help I know, just my two cents.

The pennies in a can has really helped me with Celine when she barks. I shake it and say "No Barking" she hates that sound.
