Ok just called New YOrker they apparently on the toll free line have no rooms available, but on line they do. I talked with the girl and she said to call the actuaL New Yorker hotel long distance number tomorrow between 8 and 5 pm to see what is going on.
So I booked on line. and will hopefully get the discounted rate once all is cleared up.
