If you are going to boil your chicken, make sure you boil it off bone for 10-15 minutes and check the internal temperature of the meat with a thermometer. On the bone needs an hour for boiling.
thanks i usually boil it very slowly always getting frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts and i just boil in water and then use that water to make the rice and they seem to like it fine. we eat it too and it tastes good to me and it's not usually that tough. mike is making it and he'll be eating a couple breasts himself. i told him be very careful that it is 100% cooked through and there is no pink left at all that it's all white throughout. he's pretty good at cooking so i hope he's fine with it. and i use a rice cooker from pampered chef and just put a cup of rice in with a cup of the boiling chicken water and let that cook up. i break the chicken into tiny bits and add more of the water broth for extra fluids and flavor. it's like chicken soup. and then i put the probiotics in that, but this time they gave those in pill form which Sadie refuses to eat. darn her. he did pill her the cerenia though so i hope she will eat soon.

edited to add: i forgot to mention. she gets itchy from chicken dog foods, but she's never gotten itchy from boiled home made chicken. i don't know why, but it's never bothered her like chicken in a processed diet does...????
