When I was growing up, we also had a chow. Mookie was beautiful and very loving as a pup but as she got older she became VERY aggressive towards outside people and then even turned on the other dogs in our home (both females... a doberman and beagle mix). We had "rotate" dogs in the house so she could get her people time while the other two took a "nap" in the bedroom. From my experience I would be very leary having a Chow around my Yorkies so just proceed with caution. As I said I was young (teenager) and so was getting into my own world and not really sure if I could even analyze the situation now to see if there was something that happened or how my step mother raised her.
I wish you the best of luck. CC's pics brought back some very happy memories of cuddling on Mookie! Oh, and I should clarify, she never turned on any of the family members who lived in the house. Very very protective of all of her people!
