I would stick with the milk. Tube feeding is safer than forcing with syringe. No worries about aspiration with tube feeding. I've had this happen to me before with a rescue pup and the pup is 2 years old now and thriving. Just like kids they don't want to eat. You wouldn't want to eat/chew much either if your teeth were coming in. Give him/her time. puppy gold is the best milk replace I've seen out there.
