Yes you read that correctly, I started to love Walmart on Black Friday. I spent HOURS in line with my friend while she waited for $299.00 laptop for her daughter. I spent a lot of time strolling around the store, breaking into the Door Busters and generally having a great time. At one point I started filling carts for people standing in line. As you can guess its a 24 hour Walmart so we got to wait inside the store.

I pass two Walmarts to get to "my Walmart" it is the best kept secret in North Fulton county, no one goes there but me a few other people (members from the area its on Hwy 9 just North of McFarland).
I have not been a fan of WalMart for years but Black Friday 2009 is the day that I made the decision to NEVER walk into a WalMart again. It is the day that my brother, a former manager of WalMart, was killed in a car accident on his way home from his long shift at the WalMart that he managed. He fell asleep at the wheel and sadly hit another car killing himself and the driver of the other car. He had always been a dedicated employee and a great manager. He worked the crazy hours that the higher-ups demanded him to work. Sad to say that WalMart seems to not really care much about it's employees; they care about the bottom line.

I can tell you first hand that many, many WalMart employees care. At my brother's funeral there were 2 bus-loads of employees that came for the viewing to honor my brother. They took there own time to show their respect for a boss that they loved. And the day of the funeral another bus-load of employees showed up. It did my heart good to see so many employees have such a respect for their manager.

The next time you visit a WalMart please keep in mind that these people need their job. They are raising families, paying rent, buying food, etc. I believe that many of the employees would not work for WalMart if they could find a job elsewhere. Although I HATE WalMart, and, as I said earlier, will NEVER step foot in one again, please respect those that work there. They are just trying to do what is best for themselves and their families.

I will now step down from my soapbox. Everyone have a good day!
