Well, the splint on the two broken bones in her foot caused an infection. The splint was rubbing her little leg. Now, after antibiotics to clear it up we're going to have the bones pinned tomorrow. I had a problem with her still wanting to be on the bed with us and telling us about it for hours and I solved that! I try to have her sleep in her kennel beside the bed. If she doesn't calm down, I take her kennel into the living room and I fall asleep in the recliner. For some reason, as long as she's not by the bed she's perfectly happy to sleep in her kennel.
I think my presence has something to do with it. We got her a new soft-sided kennel so at least if she's REALLY unhappy, she can't hurt herself. Anyway, hanks for all the tips and hints. I feel very confident in the surgery and DH is going to drop her off for me tomorrow. Hopefully, we are truly on the road to recovery and normalcy now!!
