Rain is undoing our potty training! Dante is 6 months old, 5 pounds, and we've had him three months. We'd made great progress on potty training, including him going out the doggy door when he needs to go. But it's been dry here - until 2 days ago. And for the past 2 days, we've had almost nonstop rain. We've had more accidents in the house in the past 2 days than we'd had in the past 4 weeks!
I take him out... and he won't go. He doesn't like the wet grass. A couple of times when I'm persistent (put him out in the middle of the grass 3-4 times), he'll give up and go. Other times, he stays more stubborn, keeps going to the door (or in thru the doggy door), and pees or poops inside.
I had pea gravel put down, but that doesn't seem to help with this. I have tried taking a pee pad out, but he ignores that, too.
I have two other dogs, so I don't want to train him to indoor pottying.
Any one have any ideas on how to get past this? |
